The tour ends with an organoleptic tasting of various beers paired with unique creations so that you can enjoy the specialities to the full.
The building that has housed the old brewery for over 140 years is known throughout the city as the headquarters of the SA Damm brewery. The Antiga Fàbrica production site has always been closely associated with the city. In the rooms you can discover the history of the brewery and the origins of the current Estrella Damm.
The history of the Estrella Damm brewery began over 140 years ago when August Kuentzmann Damm, a young brewer from Alsace, fled the Franco-Prussian War with his wife Melanie. They settled in Barcelona and pursued their dream of brewing a beer adapted to the Mediterranean climate. In 1876, they opened their brewery and produced a light, refreshing lager adapted to the warmth of the region. Since then, Estrella Damm has stuck to its original recipe from 1876, using only barley malt, rice and hops, with no additives or preservatives. Rooted in the German brewing tradition, Estrella Damm remains a symbol of quality and craftsmanship and epitomises the essence of Mediterranean brewing.
