Roman remains and medieval palaces in Barcelona

The walk begins near Barcelona Cathedral, which combines different architectural styles due to its long construction period. The tour continues to the most important remaining parts of the Roman city wall. At the end of the tour, you will visit Plaça del Rei, a unique historical site near the cathedral. Below the square are the remains of the Roman city of Barcino and above it the remains of the medieval city. On this guided tour, you will learn all about the history of Barcelona from Roman times to the Middle Ages. Stroll through the Gothic Quarter, which has a charm all of its own with its narrow, cobbled streets, wrought-iron street lamps and buildings with hidden corners where you can lose yourself.
