The impressive Columbus Monument, inaugurated in 1888 on the occasion of the Universal Exposition in Barcelona, is located in Plaça del Portal de la Pau. With its 60 metre high column, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Barcelona from the viewing platform. The glass lift takes you up to the Mirador de Colom, from where you can admire iconic sights such as the Sagrada Família, the Gothic Quarter and the Mediterranean Sea.

The monument honours Christopher Columbus and features artistic details, including the statue of the explorer and bronze reliefs of his expeditions. Discover the history of Catalonia and learn more about Columbus' connection to the region.

After the visit, you can enjoy authentic Catalan cuisine in the nearby restaurants, including tapas, paella and cava.
