The Cattedrale dell'Immagine: Florence's center for immersive art

Since 2015, the Cattedrale dell'Immagine has found its home in the historic church of Santo Stefano al Ponte, an architectural gem in the heart of Florence. The long-disused building has been transformed into a vibrant place where art, culture and tradition can be experienced in a fascinating new way. The Cattedrale dell'Immagine offers visitors a completely new way to experience art. Here, famous works of art are brought to life using the latest technology. Large-scale projections, captivating sound effects and interactive elements create an immersive environment that literally allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of art.

From March 15, 2025, the Cattedrale dell’Immagine in Florence will host a new immersive exhibition dedicated to the Fauvism master: Henri Matisse. 

"Inside Matisse - Immersive Exhibition" explores the life of an extraordinary artist, unveiling to the visitors the revolutionary and colourful art of the French painter and sculptor, allowing them to create an almost personal connection with form and colour, the main characters of this digital production.Inside Matisse - Immersive Exhibition will welcome its visitors every day inside the heart of what has now become a landmark for the digital art enthusiasts: a 360° multimedia space that for 35 minutes will be inundated with images, lights, colours and music, literally enveloping its visitors in Henri Matisse’s colourful paintings. A meeting point between art, history and technology, an emotional experience that will strike a chord with the visitors.From March 15 to June 2, 2025.
