The Landungsbrücken are a good starting point for a closer look at the harbour. From here, you can already see the dock facilities and some jetties on the opposite side of the Elbe. You can learn more about the history of seafaring in and around Hamburg on the museum ships Rickmer Rickmers and Cap San Diego, which are moored directly at the Landungsbrücken. You can really immerse yourself in the history of the port and the development of work here in the harbour museum, where the four-masted barque Peking is also located and being restored. You can also enjoy the view of the huge container ships from the Elbe beach – and pay a visit to the museum harbour of Övelgönne at the start of your walk along the riverbank.
