Germany's oldest wax museum: Panoptikum Hamburg

What awaits you on site

The Panoptikum in Hamburg presents international stars, sports legends, politicians and historical figures. In Germany's oldest wax museum, you can experience the celebrities of our time up close. It has been located on the Reeperbahn for over 130 years and is run by the Faerber family.

The more than 120 wax figures include not only current celebrities, but also long-standing celebrities who want to be admired by fans young and old. Many familiar faces from film and music can be discovered on the journey through the wax museum. Madonna and Michael Jackson show off their skills and Elvis Presley also pays a visit. Of course, the enchanting Marilyn Monroe is not to be missed, nor is "Pretty Woman" Julia Roberts.

The Panoptikum on the Reeperbahn is the place to be if you want to see one or more real Hamburg celebrities. A meeting with the original wax figures of Udo Lindenberg and Otto Waalkes is guaranteed, and Jan Fedder also lets his watchful eye wander over the visitors. For history buffs, the Panoptikum Hamburg offers a look back at German history. In addition to the first German Chancellor Angela Merkel, all her predecessors can also be observed in the political corner during a debate. Our German politicians are joined by international politicians such as Barack Obama.

In addition to many celebrities from the past and present, the Panoptikum Hamburg also has a medical anatomy section. Here you can marvel at a man with three eyes and a person with a second face up close. The origin of these figures is not clear - did they really live? Or are they a free masterpiece of the imagination?
