Find out more about the history of the Hofbräuhaus Munich on an exciting guided tour and visit the festival hall (which is otherwise only open in the evening).
The Hofbräuhaus was founded in 1589 and originally had the sole purpose of supplying the court of Duke Wilhelm V with beer. It opened as an inn in 1828, when King Ludwig I granted permission for public bar and hospitality.
During the tour, you will receive a coin in a currency that only exists in the Hofbräuhaus. You can redeem it for a beer or a non-alcoholic drink, or keep it as a souvenir. Your guide will tell you everything about the tradition, history and present of the most famous inn in the world. And after the tour, you can enjoy your free drink at your leisure. Cheers!
