With a height of 17 metres and a weight of 15 tons this white sculpture in front of building of the insurance Munich Re attracts your attention immediately. As the name already indicates it depicts a walking man that has already travelled quite a distance in his life. Created by the artist Jonathan Borofsky in Los Angeles 1995 the sculpture came to Munich by plane in separate pieces. There it has been put together at its present location in Leopoldstraße in Schwabing.
The sculpture attracts a lot of keen photographers and enjoys great popularity. Pay a visit to the Walking Man and feel its atmosphere. It is meant to represent thirst for action and many appreciate it as a positive symbol in public space.
