The Bavarian State Observatory on Rosenheimer Straße is a fascinating place for stargazers and space enthusiasts of all ages. Here, visitors can explore the secrets of the cosmos and catch a glimpse of the infinite vastness of the universe.

The centrepiece of the facility is the 300-square-metre observation platform, which features two mirror and two lens telescopes. These state-of-the-art instruments make it possible to observe distant galaxies, planets in our solar system and other celestial phenomena at close quarters.

The observatory's planetarium is particularly impressive. In this domed projection room, the positions of planets, moon and sun are precisely displayed. This allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of astronomy even when the sky is cloudy or in broad daylight.

The observatory offers regular tours and lectures aimed at both adults and children.

The observatory is only open to visitors as part of guided tours.
The tours last 1.5 to 2 hours. Start of the tour:
September - March: 8:00 p.m.
April - August: 9:00 p.m.
