It highlights key aspects of human coexistence worldwide, from achievements to failures, and focuses on areas such as housing, work, leisure, communication and technology.
The show documents the global interconnectedness and interdependence of people and presents a cross-section of documentary to artistically staged photographs. The aim is to highlight similarities and differences without judgement and to invite reflection and dialogue. In addition to well-known artists such as Candida Höfer and Edward Burtynsky, younger talents are also represented.
The exhibition was originally initiated by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Korea and the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography and has been shown worldwide since 2018. The Munich version has been updated and supplemented with works that address current topics such as the coronavirus pandemic and artificial intelligence.
