What awaits you on site

Neuschwanstein Castle is Germany’s most famous sight. A fantastical castle on a mountain perch in the Bavarian Alps that is a must for every tourist in Bavaria. You start your day with a trip to the beautiful old town of Füssen, a short two-hour journey from Munich. Just outside town, the picturesque old royal district of Hohenschwangau is framed with mountains, forests and lakes.

Here, Hohenschwangau Castle can be found, the boyhood home of the future King Ludwig II. Above it, soaring to the sky from its lofty seat in the mountains, his famous creation: Neuschwanstein Castle. Neuschwanstein is one of the most iconic sights in Bavaria and Germany. From the outside, Neuschwanstein looks like a fairy-tale. All around are spectacular views of the Bavarian Alps, forests, lakes, the town of Füssen in the distance, and a stunning aerial view of Hohenschwangau Castle. Visit the castle interior and marvel at the sumptuously decorated rooms dedicated to the artistic glorification of medieval German Romance and the operas of Richard Wagner, such as in the elaborate and imposing Throne Hall, and you feel you have wandered into a movie.

About the day trip

The day trip is fully organized – from transportation to visiting the most scenic spots to the skip-the-line tickets and the language of your audio guide if you want to visit inside the castle, too. Everything is taken care of. On the Neuschwanstein Castle Tour, you’re not just getting a trip to the castle. Sure, the castle is the main event of the day tour. But the beauty of the Neuschwanstein Castle also unfolds from the distance, so we will show you the stunning Bavarian scenery around the castle, too.
