Discover the Château de Maisons, one of the most beautiful pleasure palaces built in the first half of the 17th century, ideally located between the forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and the Seine. François Mansart created a masterpiece that epitomises the transition from Renaissance to classical architecture.

The château is open to the public and offers visits all year round: fun discoveries for the whole family, heritage tours to uncover the secrets of more than 350 years of history, exhibitions, shows and concerts. Discover the King’s flat and his cabinet with its magnificent mirrors!

Don’t miss the beautiful landscaped garden

François Mansart also designed the layout of the huge 500-hectare estate that surrounded the castle and no longer exists today. What guides his creation? The symmetry!

The central perspective from the forest of Saint-Germain in the north to the area of Sartrouville in the south beyond the Seine runs through the raised château, which is framed by dry moats. Huge stables and an orangery adorn the park. Water basins, fountains, sculptures, ornamental and kitchen gardens and a hunting forest complete the composition, whose tulip beds, orange and lemon trees testify to the considerable wealth of its owner.
