What awaits you on site

The Hôtel de la Marine is a symbolic place on the Place de la Concorde and a magnificent architectural ensemble. It housed the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne before becoming the seat of the Ministry of the Navy for two centuries. 

Built between 1757 and 1774, the Hôtel de la Marine was originally home to the office responsible for furnishing all royal estates. After the French Revolution, it became the Ministry of the French Navy, which used it until 2015. Today, the restored apartments of the royal Intendant of the Garde-Meuble from the 18th century are on display here.
