The Sainte-Chapelle was built between 1244 and 1248 and, despite minor restorations, has many original elements of high-quality architecture. The large, colorful stained glass windows in particular are an attraction for every visitor and give the entire architecture of the Sainte-Chapelle Paris something unique. Each window of the Sainte-Chapelle Paris is 12 meters high and together they cover an area of 600 m². Approximately ⅔ of all the windows here are still in their original state of 12th century architecture. The Sainte-Chapelle was built in the middle of the 13th century for a royal residence in the heart of Paris. The palace chapel of the former Palais de la Cité on the Île de la Cité is one of the most beautiful monuments of Gothic architecture and an outstanding example of the late Gothic style. The Paris City Pass includes admission to the Sainte-Chapelle Paris.
