Experience a royal day at Versailles! The majestic palace, surrounded by 800 hectares of parkland, invites you to discover the splendour of Louis XIV. The UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the residence of the French monarchs and the seat of government from 1682 to 1789.With your City Pass, you can explore the world-famous Hall of Mirrors, the royal apartments and the park designed by André Le Nôtre.At the time of Louis XIV, the palace housed thousands of court servants.

The interior was designed by Charles Lebrun. The palace park is one of the largest parks in Europe. The baroque building, which stretches over 500 metres, had a decisive influence on the architecture of the 17th to 19th centuries. The castle also houses a museum dedicated to the history of France and provides a fascinating insight into the country's past.

  • Opening hours
    Palace of Versailles: From April 1 to October 31: Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    Gardens: From April to October 31: 8.00 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
  • Please note: Access to the gardens is not included with the Paris Museum Pass. Tickets can be purchased at the Palace from the ticket booths or online to avoid queues.   • Dress code: Although there is no strict dress code, it is recommended to dress appropriately and respectfully when visiting the Palace of Versailles.
  • Prohibitions: Smoking is prohibited on the premises of the palace and in the gardens of the palace.
