Until you have the final tickets in your hand, for example for the Englsburg, it takes a lot of walking, first to Piazza Navona, then back to the Engelsburg looking for the right employee so that you can finally get into the castle. Could be made more straightforward.
We had a great time and the pass was very helpful. We didn't do a final price comparison but we saved a lot of time waiting in line. Unfortunately, the app is not really worth its name. Comprehensive information (e.g. opening times, conditions) is missing.
The Rome pass and Barcelona pass were very helpful and good to use during the trip. The only issue was spent long times almost a month to get the papers on hand. Also it was difficult to find the place to redeem the real card for the pass and transportations. The address they provide was not clear for customers. Suggest more details and specifics to give more information on the instructions, such as a newsstand or booth.
Unfortunately, some attractions were fully booked and no longer available. Otherwise the pass was very helpful and saved us a lot of time.
Rome is great, but next time I would prefer to go in the winter months to avoid the tourist crowds. Unfortunately, in some places the tickets had to be picked up first, such as the free tickets for young people for the Colosseum or the tickets for the Pantheon. This takes additional time, especially if you have to pick them up at the tourist office. That's why we had to do without the Pantheon - a shame! The Turbopass can't do anything about it, but the entry times with time slots are annoying because the times are difficult to plan in a crowded city.
We had booked the Rome City Pass for the four of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers). Unfortunately in Rome it is very inconvenient to go to a separate service point for each attraction and to queue there for each individual sight or ticket. Especially since these tourism centers (information) are difficult to find. The transfer from the airport and back worked well, and the hop on hop off bus also went great. After we found the bus and train tickets (according to the description - at Termini train station opposite a pharmacy at a kiosk) and redeemed them, we were able to use everything (i.e. subway, bus and train) without any further problems. It would be better to have a card for everything, with a QR code and that's it.
We booked the Rome City Pass with Colosseum and Vatican. Three days before the trip, the Rome City Pass arrived with the message that there were no longer any tickets for the Vatican. At short notice we had to look for other, more expensive tickets. This was very annoying because I booked the Rome City Pass more than five weeks in advance. The bus ride from the airport to the main train station was very long due to the traffic. That's why we took the train on the return journey, which we would do again at any time. I would no longer buy the Rome City Pass. If you plan your days in Rome well (important during the holiday season, as many tours are sold out) and don't spontaneously plan sightseeing, you can get everywhere with the metro for little money.
Booking via Turbopass is relatively easy and understandable. A lot of sights are included in the pass. I have to complain that picking up the individual tickets or tickets is a little complicated. Furthermore, I had booked a time slot for the Vatican Museum, which I unfortunately couldn't keep; rebooking wasn't possible because I couldn't make contact.
Basically the turbo pass was okay, e.g. Transfer by bus to and from the airport, appointment for the Coloseum, etc. But sometimes we also had negative experiences where you were then told you needed an additional ticket, which was not clear from the description. It's just annoying when you're sent back to a seat to get a ticket - which of course you don't do. Otherwise, overall quite okay.
Good in itself, picking up the public transport ticket was a bit strange (newspaper stand), some information was also incorrect or not available: e.g. The free audio guide at the Pantheon is only available MON - FRI but not SA, Sun and public holidays, but these are rather minor details. Turbo Pass isn't cheap but it's OK. I honestly don't know if I'll take it again. The long wait for the appointment confirmations, the komsce collection of the public transport tickets, well, let's see. Still OK.
The pass is great for the Colosseum and the Vatican. However, for all other museums and hop on hop off, quite tedious. You always have to first find an employee at the attractions to scan your pass and get an entry ticket. Why can't this be solved differently these days?
Basically the services are okay for the price. However, our desired visiting times for the Vatican and the Colosseum could not be met (there is no guarantee of that). We had chosen the time slot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and we were only given a ticket for the Colosseum at 5 p.m. The German tour in the Vatican was fully booked, which is why we were pushed onto the French one without being asked... Recommendation: book the pass 4 weeks in advance so that you can choose a suitable date and be flexible, as your plans could be changed.
Public transport in Rome is quite cheap, so you could have saved yourself the local transport ticket. Entry to the Panthenon is only included until the end of August. Pre-booked options (Vatican Museums and Colosseum) worked well. You should definitely take a look at the Caracalla thermal baths.
We booked the Turbopass at very short notice. Unfortunately, some of the included attractions were no longer available, as you have to reserve them separately, so we had to book them again through other providers. At Castel Sant'Angelo (possible without advance reservation) we had to wait 30 minutes for our ticket to be confirmed by the local provider. Only the tour with the hop on hop off bus and the Vatican worked without any problems. It's a shame actually.
Hello, overall the Turbo Pass is a very good thing, it greatly facilitates travel and access to various visits to the city. I particularly appreciated the Colosseum and the IO bus, which was very pleasant and practical for visiting the city and seeing its various monuments. The only negative point to collect the 3-day Transport Pass and the tickets for the IO bus is that you have to go to specific locations in the city where my advice is to get the Transport Pass as soon as you arrive. Rome is a magnificent city and I recommend the Turbo Pass with visit to the Colosseum and Vatican included.
We are not that satisfied with turbopass since:
1- entrance to the castle de Anglo was not easy. They asked for the tickets not the pass containing the barcode.
2- we could not find any online tickets for coliseum, it was sold out. But, easily we got our tickets from people at the entrance.
3- we saw other offers had the same value although cheaper and turbopass.
The pass is a good idea, but sometimes it is very confusing and unorganized on site. You get appointments, when you should be where, you are then on site at the times and still had to wait half an hour in the heat at 35 degrees. Sometimes it was just very confusing where you have to go to get your ticket. You can't get into the sight with the pass and then you have to walk to a ticket office/animator again, sometimes just very annoying... The mobile app is good and easy to set up. I also think the price of the pass is reasonable. A little more organization would be great.
In principle a good idea, but after Covid it needs to be updated urgently. Many attractions that are included are permanently closed. The fact that I have to get the tickets for the Castel Sant'Angelo near the Vatican Museum is cumbersome and difficult. The priority entry didn't work either and we had to stand in line. The London Pass was a lot better there.
Negative: The information on some cultural institutions is out of date ... e.g. the from-to opening times (not related to Corona). Museums that are basically free are listed as if you had free entry with the turbo pass. Positive: faster entry to the Coliseum and the Vatican thanks to advance booking.
Offering, buying and using the Turbopass are quite simple. Unfortunately not. For example, Castel Sant'Angelo is not part of this pass; it is quite cumbersome to find out whether the "Turbo Pass" is valid or not. Otherwise it's a good thing, like all similar tourist passes, it just seems to me that value for money could be improved a bit
