We never had to wait in line for long as the Colosseum and Vatican Museum were pre-booked with time slots. We hardly used the public transport ticket because we could reach almost everything on foot. Our hotel was located in Travestere, which we can only recommend because of the many restaurants.
Everything worked great and saw several sites that had not been planned.
We were able to fully enjoy our 5 days in Rome thanks to the City Pass. Many visits possible, tickets easily accessible, no or little waiting. We recommend.
At first we thought for a long time whether we should buy the pass, but if you really want to see a lot, it's perfect. The reservations also worked well, but there is always a bit of a wait!
What was great was that we hardly lost any time buying tickets; everywhere past the queue at the checkout and straight to the entrance. This is really worth it because there is just so much to see. If someone doesn't take that much time to visit each individual attraction, they can also save money with the Turbopass. We traveled rather slowly and always took significantly longer than the average visitor, so the bottom line was that there was no saving in financial terms, but there was a noticeable saving in terms of time - it was worth it for us.
We booked a three-day Rome pass, including airport transfer. The transfer is independent of the days of use of the pass. The bus ride was straightforward; both from the airport to the city and back to the airport. We had no problems with the acceptance of the pass. I was able to skip all ticket lines and go straight to the entrance. In places with special entry controls - metal detectors like at the airport - you still have to queue as normal. This was the case at the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill or Roman Forum, the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica. In any case, you save a lot of time.
Free entry, (almost) no queuing at the cash register, including hop on - hop off - quick and easy. The combination with airport transfer also makes this topic easier!
The Rome Citypass has opened many doors and provided great insights. In addition, the extras such as the Vatican/Colosseum or local transport tickets were worth it. So gladly again or fully recommended.
My mom visited Rome in the mid February and the Pass has been a great help for her! She used hop-in bus and visited lots of attractions. Additional thanks to Natalia from Piazza Navona info stop - she's been extremely helpful.
We had booked the Turbopass for 3 days including an airport transfer. We were thrilled because we didn't have to worry about anything. Entry to the Colosseum, Vartikan Museums, Pantheon and Castel Sant'Angelo without queuing worked brilliantly. And two days of hop on off bus simply brilliant. We didn't even manage to do the additional sightseeing options or the city tour, because you just want to sit comfortably in the piazza and enjoy the delicious food. Plus, there are just too many beautiful places to stay in Rome. We can highly recommend the pass. The highlights are covered :)
The app was particularly good, as it clearly showed where the individual sights were and so you could make a good plan for the day. I would have liked it if it were possible in the app to check the box or mark the places in green that you have already seen, that would definitely make “working through” it easier. All in all, the pass is worth it if you plan to visit a lot of museums, sights, etc., as you can get in everywhere without a headache and at some attractions you even get a tour included or an audio guide
We took full advantage of our pass, everything is well explained and everything is digital and practical Nice bus tour with all the visits, Colosseum and Vatican included for 100 eur/person
Everything worked great with the Turbopass
A perfect subscription to see all the attractions of Rome without wasting time in ticket queues.
Price/performance is excellent as long as you check out all the included attractions. The process is also super relaxed and intuitive. The only thing that was negative is the included city tour of the Piazza Navona tourist station. Although it was advertised that the tour would take place at a certain time every day, we were told that there was 'no tour today'. They just wanted to fob us off with a ticket for the Stadio di Domiziano, which was included in the City Pass anyway. It's not a big drama, but at least you have a right to it.
So let's say in advance, Rome in January 24th, actually everything was perfect, exactly as described, no problems. The pass was recommended by friends and bought straight away, after which (unfortunately?!?) I read the reviews. Therefore, we (as first-time Turbopass users) started off in Rome with very critical expectations. The communication beforehand also made us uncertain. You couldn't log in to the app, there was poor communication about what, how and why. All in all, the explanation and function could only be explained better. simplify and communicate better. Rome: first went to the National Museum with the pass, and lo and behold, I got a ticket with the TB at the ticket office without any problems. Then into the Colosseum, a frightening sight, the 200 m queue at the ticket office, and then the blockade at the entrance. We go through security and are turned away, but only because we are 30 minutes early. 20 minutes later (a coffee in between) everything works perfectly without a queue. The same card also applies to the Roman Forum and Palantir, there too without waiting times or problems. Getting the card on the hop on hop off bus was also no problem. Since we live right next to Termini train station, this can even be used as a means of local transport or between excursion destinations. Next day Panteum, we confidently go to the entrance with our TB, but you can't get in with that, but the friendly gentleman at the entrance knows the PASS and sends us 10 m further where a lady is waiting with the tickets. She was very accommodating and booked us an appointment at Castel Sant'Angelo, where we received the card 10 meters from the entrance after a 10-second search. In the Vatican Museum, the same as in the Coloseum, past a 100-meter queue and almost straight in, of course we were 30 minutes early again. We had to wait for them again. Bought a few souvenirs and we were in without waiting. We then visited 4 destinations with TB, and as always without any problems. Even luggage storage on the last day, which is closer than the public location, costs half the price and is of course free with TB. All in all, it went perfectly and I can't understand the many negative reviews. The only thing is that you have to read the whole thing through and, to be on the safe side, take the explanation with you, then your enjoyment will not be dampened. By the way, you can safely book without a local transport ticket, because it costs the same locally, and you can also book the shuttle bus locally for the same price.
The four of us used our City Pass to use all forms of public transportation. We found having the City Pass to be a great benefit with ease of use on public transportation. The website is not easy to navigate and find answers to questions easily. Too many pictures and links to group tours. Also, there needs to be signage on the newsstand with \"pick up your pre-paid city pass here.\" While there were instructions on how to find the location, we assumed it was a storefront and were stumped at first.
We discovered the TurboPass in advance of our planning for the Rome trip. When we looked into it in detail it was clear that we would order this. We were able to set the date for the Colosseum in advance and also the date for the Vatican Museums. Especially at the Vatican Museums there is a very long waiting time without an appointment, the Turbo Pass avoids this and you have direct access. We booked the optional guided tour (2 hours in English) and would definitely recommend it. We were in Rome for 1 week and therefore booked the TurboPass for 7 days. You can set the period yourself. We also had 48-hour tickets for the hop on/hop off buses, which was great. We also booked the transfer from the airport and on departure to the airport for a small additional charge, which I would also recommend. Overall, the TurboPass is definitely worth it, it includes a lot of sights (Castel Sant'Angelo, for example) and you avoid long waiting times.
The entire process from booking to using the pass was uncomplicated and smooth. For us as a family of five, everything worked, including the Colosseum and the Vatican. The on-site staff were helpful and friendly.
