The brochure that comes with the pass claims that the turbopass has free wifi around the city of Rome. We looked at both the Castle of Angels and the Trevi Fountain. There was no free wifi! Don't be fooled like we were.
Also, the pass was not really worth the money during the peak season. We went the beginning of Rome and could not see even 3 things on the list. Also, according to some of the travel guides, the free entries on the 48 hr pass were not even worth going to see.
The tickets for the hop-on-hop-off-tour could not be used immediately, but had to be picked up in the office on St. Peter's Square -> 1x across the city and the tourist crowds, absolutely unnecessary and TIMELY! The codes did not work on the Collosseum, we had to talk to a lot of people, count out the mails, confirmations, etc., prove that we bought the tickets until we were given "kulanterweise" replacement tickets - otherwise we would not be there again had to go to the office in St. Peter's Square? The app with the audio guide crashed again and again and gave in Petersdorm exclusively information about the statues, popes etc, no structural / architectural information -> Everything in ALL chaotic, NOT comfortable and the time we spend with the expensive "fast-lane "Saved / bought" tickets were needed to solve problems
Save yourself the money for the pass and buy your tickets on the spot, so you have an overview and in the end you save even more money.
The only thing we used was the hop on and hop off bus and the metro. For the Coliseum, the pass on Easter Sunday was not valid, only on Easter Monday, only we have since left again. Thus, the € 160,00 were really bad.
I've never seen such a terrible customer service and lack of competence to solve an issue that the company itself caused. I booked my pass for Rome days in advance with a booking to Vatican for a certain date and time. Their system allowed me to complete the booking with the dates I selected and confirmed my pass with the date I planned for Vatican. We packed our luggages with my family and started to our trip from Venice first. During my stay, just 3 days before my visit to Rome- Vatican, I received an email from Turbopass Customer Service saying that no booking possible for Vatican and either they can refund the money just for this part or make another booking for another date which is after my holiday finishes. I worked out, searched and found the only ticket available for a date which is within my vacation calendar as I don't want to leave Italy without seeing Vatican. It is not an aroumd the corner place for me- by the way I had to do these all during my holiday by staying up until 3am.
Now Turbopass even does not feel responsible for these all trouble they caused, no emphaty at all, no high standarts and keep posting me with the same nonsense explanation not to pay the £27 difference they made me to pay for this only ticket I bought again.
They rudely and a very threatening way told me to cancel the whole pass even. These all are happening right now in my stay in italy with my family and they are turning my trip into a nightmare. They even dont know what is the whole purpose to compansate their error for a customer satisfaction and pay a wage to a customer service assistance maybe even more to get him keep refusing my rectification request.
Total disappointment and I dont recommend turbopass at all. At the end of the day there are many other companies with great offers such as Omnipass etc. Even the off licens in Rome sells these cards.
We have the Turbo Pass Rome as an extreme money making and will recommend it to anyone. First, we did not get an appointment to visit the Vatican, but got a compensation back. Then there was free entry on Sunday for all, so we would not have needed a pass and the turbo pass was not even to pass the long lines. So, like everyone else, how did you have to queue up and lose a lot of time? The entrance to the Colloseum but was still stamped, so that we had 'lost' our free attraction with it. The service of the hop-on-hop-off city tour is also much worse than the other lines. The microphones were broken in EVERY bus, so we had to search somewhere in the bus, could not sit together, the explanation was very bad and did NOT correspond to the sights we drove by. The reduction due to the pass on Monday was extremely low. We could have saved the money for the pass, it only cost us extra. I could go into more detail here, but annoy me only when I think about it. NEVER AGAIN TURBOPASS!
The pass consists of a Roma Pass, a reservation to the Vatican Museums and Bus Hop-On-Hop-Off Tour. The individual packages can be much more flexible and equal, if not less, both online and on-site. For example, if, like us, the schedule changes, then Turbopass is unwilling to change the fixed date for the Vatican, which in our case meant over € 200 loss. Guilt own, but without Turbopass everything would have been no problem.
An acceleration, so past the queue, there was only in the Coliseum. The Vatican Museum could only be booked for the 4th day. Consider 3 days pass, so 3 days in Rome. On the 4th day, when we were sitting in the plane, we could have done it. The handover was just as rude and servicelos as the whole pass itself.
The bus doesn’t leave you at each attraction. You still have to walk 5-10 minutes to get to the Vatican and the Spanish steps. The hop on and off bus only for one day of the trip which is misleading when the website doesn’t specify, there is no map or instructions on how to use the public transportation and once there we couldn’t use it. The hop on and off bus only runs until 6pm. It wasn’t worth the money for us.
RomeCityPass is not recommended. Only entry to the Vatican. Museums went faster, but otherwise would not have been the huge problem. The bus only left for 1 day, and when you get in at noon, it only takes 4 hours, because the buses do not drive longer than until 17.30. In addition, the bus is difficult to find or the stops are hard to find. There are much better organized bus providers - bad !!!!
Even at the only (!) Well-hidden pick-up point in Rome in the back room of a souvenir shop on St. Peter's Square, the employee was very rude. Several times the note, she did not know how the pass works, we should read the booklet. What nobody says clearly: The \"turbo passport\" does not really exist, nowhere in Rome at the museums signs or similar. (as with Omnia etc). The company ultimately sells only the \"Roma Pass\" of the Romans. Tourism authority along with a third-rate city tour in a run-down bus (entering the bus is as complicated as entering Russia, the fantasy map \"Turbopass\" one does not need this way, but the paper copies (!) Of the purchase documents for the Roma-Pass package , which one bought before under the title \"Turbopass\" (all clear?). For the city tour one has time only one day.The telephone service of the \"Turbopass\" is cumbersome and torments the customers with an endless 80's 8-bit In summary.
The reservation is made without information or consideration of your own plans. Email arrived so late that you could not keep the reservation. And then they charge 40 € cancellation fees, although you could not help it.
Terrible value. No added benefit apart from a nice envelope. Nothing you should pay extra for as many of museum's listed on the website as being included are already free!!
The pass is unacceptable because * with this pass from the bus can not get back in and out ... a city bus with a start and end point. For an additional charge of € 5.00 per person, you can use the entry and exit variant * In Rome drive a lot of city buses and I had to find that the bus, where the City Pass card is valid, with a very small and clear quantity is present ... In principle, the passport was much too expensive and could not be used as described
I want to report here fair, serious and honest about the ordering process and the process of the entire transaction / journey. The order was pretty easy. Everything else then not! First of all, there was not a single date to visit the Vatican in our travel period. When ordering via external providers, however, were still VERY many appointments bookable. We were then reimbursed 20 euros per person of the total price - mind you when booking an external office at our expense in the amount of 35 euros per person. When we wanted to pick up the passport, there were no more available in the shop at the Vatican. The woman made a very workunaufudigen impression and conveys it so! Shop opening hours are below average - Attention: close early! We had to visit the shop again late in the afternoon to finally get our passports. An absolute nuisance.
The hop-on-hop-off bus company uses only a few buses, so there are waiting times that can last from 30 minutes to over 1 hour. Call the hotline is placed directly. Caution with children. Children are billed but in the child-friendly Italy, children in museums have free admission So that one receives a turbo pass for children but is only a paper without any function. Conclusion: Stay away.
Got the 2 day rome pass, this is a complete scam.... when I went to pick the tickets the lady gave me like 3 cards (which only one worked) I also had the bus tour and when I got to the bus they said they pass in invalid and we were unable to ride it when it said that it was included with our pass, same with the coliseum, we were unable to go in and had to pay extra out of the 250 usd I originally paid for this pass.
I do not recommend this, it was a complete bad experience for me, ruined my trip to rome.
At the checkout the passport is partially accepted. In case of complaint there is no feedback. We are very dissatisfied.
We bought the Rome City Pass for our three-day Rome trip in July 2017 and did not find it useful. At the Colosseum you had to go anyway. The Vatican Museum can also be booked on the website for the same price as "Skip the line". We did not use the public transport, since we stayed in a hotel in the center. From there were actually all the sights in the city within walking distance. For the proud price of the Rome City Pass of 279 euros (two adults, two children), too few sights are included, the two further entries were immediately spent with us with the Forum Romanum and the Engelsburg immediately. We then also wanted to see the Capitoline museums, which cost us with a discount through the Rome City Pass for two children and two adults 52 euros, which we found very expensive. On our next trip to Rome we will not take the passport anymore.
