What awaits you on site

The church in Sestriere is actually called Santa Croce Sant’Eustachio, but in the local dialect it became San Stae. The Chiesa di San Stae is a church on the Grand Canal that was built in the 17th century. The church was built so that the façade faces the Grand Canal. Inside the church is the tomb of Doge Alvise Mocenigo II, who had a large sum of money spent on renovating the façade. This façade, with its Renaissance and Baroque elements, makes the church a real gem, even from the outside. The interior of the church is surprisingly light. In addition, you can admire the works of many important Venetian artists of the 18th century, including Giambattista Tiepolo, Sebastiano Ricci and Giovanni Battista Pittoni.
